The cambelt, sometimes known as a timing belt, is a rubber belt with teeth, which synchronises the rotation of the crankshaft and the camshaft, keeping vital components of your engine working in harmony.
If you don't replace your cambelt at the recommended intervals (as determined by your vehicle manufacturer) you run the risk of seriously damaging your car's engine.
Why you should replace your cambelt
- Over time the cambelt will stretch which will cause delays in the engine timings
- Prevents potentially serious (and costly) damage to your engine
- Once the cambelt breaks, your car will become undriveable
