The All New Ford Mustang

There are few cars in the world more iconic than the Ford Mustang and up until now the US had the monopoly when it came to driving the muscle car. But, things are about to change, as 2015 will see the Mustang launched in the UK for the first time, just over 50 years since the first Mustang rolled off the production line.

Demand will be high for the all new sixth-generation Ford Mustang. Itís the latest model to be developed for the Ďone Fordí plan, with the key belief of one team, one plan, and one goal. The new Ford Mustang made its debut at the Detroit motor show, with the right hand drive model available in the UK early 2015.

Ford Mustang History

Before discussing the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang, it seems only right to talk about the journey the famous vehicle has been on in its 50 years. Since its launch in late 1964, over nine million Mustang models have been sold, with the new model expected to take the figure over the ten million mark.

But, the idea for the Mustang, which was the brainchild of Lee Iacocca, came long before, in 1961. Funding was finally approved for the Mustang project in September of 1962 and just two years later, the first Mustang rolled off the assembly line. A UK Ford Mustang is sure to be another key milestone for the company, with hopefully more right-hand-drive models to be rolled out in the future.

Ford Mustang Cockpit

The Mustang takes inspiration from cockpit design, for a dynamic driving experience. Ford struck a balance between analogue dials and digital feedback. The gear stick is optimally placed. And the steering wheel feels just right in your hands. You even have a row of fighter jet style toggle switches to make adjustments to your driving experience.

No short corners were taken in the design of the interior, with meticulously stitched leather seats. The aluminium styling on the centre console shows a great attention to detail and complements the overall aeronautical design and feel.

The technology this car provides wonít let you down either. It comes with an array or existing new technological advances including: push button start, 3 driving modes, launch control (standard on the V8 models) and Track Apps which allows you to record your own track times through the on-board computer.

Ford Mustang Performance

The old days of the pure muscle of the Mustang still exist in the shape of the classic five-litre V8 engine, which throws out a massive 426PS and over 529Nm of torque.

For those looking for something a little different, Ford will offer the new Mustang with a more environmentally-friendly 2.3-litre EcoBoost. The state-of-the-art technology brings with it an innovative turbocharger, while still producing an impressive 309PS and 407Nm of torque.

We are still waiting for the economy figures to be realised. It is believed that the fuel economy will be improved from the old 3.7 litre V6 by around 10%. It will also be available in manual and automatic with paddle shifters as standard, along with a reengineered six-speed gearbox.

Overall itís an exciting prospect to have a Ford Mustang for sale in the UK. Demand will be high, enquire today to avoid disappointment.
