Bristol Street Motors and Macklin Motors, part of Vertu Motors plc, have signed a deal with Channel 4 to sponsor its coverage of the 2020 Formula 1 season.

Channel 4 will offer viewers free to air tv coverage of the Formula 1 season which will see Lewis Hamilton challenging for his seventh Formula One World Championship title.

Bristol Street Motors and Macklin Motors will sponsor Channel 4’s 2020 coverage which includes live broadcast of 2020 FORMULA 1 BRITISH GRAND PRIX and highlights of all Formula 1 races throughout the season.

Bristol Street Motors operates dealerships across England and Macklin Motors operates in Scotland.

Vertu Motors plc chief executive Robert Forrester said:  “This is one of our most ambitious and exciting sponsorships to date.  Channel 4’s Formula 1 viewers are knowledgeable about cars and it is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our business to a huge audience.

“Our dealerships support a wide range of local community organisations, in particular, grass roots sport and this partnership opens up Bristol Street Motors and Macklin Motors to a national audience.  Several of our manufacturers operate racing teams so there is a real synergy.

“We are very excited about the upcoming Formula 1 season and looking forward to a competitive championship, with lots of thrills along the way.”

Channel 4’s Brand Partnerships Leader Rupinder Downie welcomed the new sponsor saying: “Channel 4 is the only place where viewers can enjoy free to air coverage of the Formula 1 and we’re delighted to welcome Bristol Street Motors and Macklin Motors as sponsors of our F1 coverage which last year reached more than 20 million viewers.”

Channel 4’s coverage of the 2020 Formula 1 season is to be broadcast later this year. You can find the full list of dates and results on Channel 4's 2020 season calendar, here.
