Peugeot 208 wins hearts again with updated version

The Peugeot 208 has received an update, giving it a wider grille with a new 3D pattern, two-tone headlights and reworked chrome. On top of this it's also received engine updates that provide best-in-class economy and incredible emissions of just 79g/km for the most efficient diesel.

The new 208 gets some special features on the outside, such as textured paint and two special colour personalisation packs menthol white and lime white. The personalisation packs are available on mid-range Active and Allure specifications, and include coloured markings on the 3D grille in either white or green, colour trim on Peugeot badge and a black grille and mirrors. Inside, these versions gain sports seats and contrast stitching throughout, along with chrome air vents.

A sporty new GT Line trim has also recently been added to the 208 range. The GT Line models gets larger alloy wheels, a red interior scheme for the touchscreen and LED rear lights.

The 208 comes with a small steering wheel meaning loads of feedback from the road and excellent handling, which is only aided by the smooth suspension. Engine noise also remains at a minimum, even on rougher roads, from within the spacious cabin.

The 208 cruises comfortably through the corners and also has buckets of power when you need it. Both with the automatic or manual gearbox mated to its extremely economical engines, it can race through the gears.

Luckily, the 208 has retained the characteristics which won it fans in the first place. It's pleasant to drive, has great kerb appeal with the funky new extras and, even in the lower specification models, quality is good.
