"Another absolute peach of an MX-5 joins our collection and this must be the best yet, its certainly the right spec, a Special edition 'Sport Venture' which really benefits from some unique touches. Only 600 examples of these cars came to the U.K, 400 in the beautiful Stormy Blue Metallic with contrasting 17 inch alloy wheels finished in dark silver paint with matching wing mirrors. The interior is trimmed in Stone leather complemented with heated seats and is in fantastic condition. Special edition MX-5's are always very highly spec'd from new and this one is no different with features such as built in Sat Nav, Cruise Control, Climate Control Air conditioning, Bluetooth telephone preparation to name but a few. We haven't even mentioned the folding hard top roof yet, a wonder to behold, unbelievably it folds in behind the rear seats leaving your boot space untouched, a feature unique to the MX-5 Roadster Coupe range. The last MX-5 we had was only with us for a matter of days so don't delay, call our team of lovely sales people to find out more."

Ten Second Review
A high-end MX-5 special edition, the 25th Anniversary model stands out with its bespoke interior and exterior design and unique badging, a model that keeps a tried and tested formula fresh. Available only with 2.0-litre power and the metal folding roof Roadster-Coupe body style, it's bound to be popular.
It seems hard to believe that the Mazda MX-5 sportscar is 25 years old. It's true though. The model was first revealed to the public at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show and from the start, caused a sensation. Now, it's a quarter of a century young. Sales of this model have dropped off in recent times as the market for small cabrios has swelled with new arrivals, but Mazda is fighting back with keen value for money, sticking to a design philosophy that's even more relevant now than when the MX-5 was first launched in the UK, twenty years ago. Indeed, the brand's use of light weight construction and fuel-efficient engines has been copied by many rivals looking to share its success. Fitting that the 25 year celebration should be marked by this very unique special edition.
The 25th Anniversary edition is offered only the 160PS 2.0-litre unit in Roadster Coupe guise. 62mph from rest takes 7.9s but straight line speed was never what the MX-5 was about, instead majoring on tactility, usability, comparatively modest grip levels and a chassis that's helped generations of drivers get to grips with rear-wheel drive dynamics. Despite not setting the world alight with their performance, both engines are plenty fast enough to extract some enjoyment from the MX-5's sweet chassis. There's a little more roll through corners than you might expect and neither of the engines play a particularly inspiring soundtrack but there's a huge amount of fun to be had behind the wheel.
Design and Build
The metal folding roof retracts in three sections with no impact on boot space and adds just 37kg to the weight of an equivalent soft top MX-5 roadster. Raise the roof and it sits a mere centimetre taller than its fabric-trimmed sibling. Although it's tempting to think of this car as 'just a roof', a lot of thought has clearly gone into it. The spring and damper settings are subtly revised to take account of the hard top car's marginally altered weight distribution. Thankfully, the roof retracts to a position within the wheelbase of the car so that it doesn't detract too much from handling agility. Park the Roadster Coupe and the MX-5 soft top next to each other and it's possible to see the subtle way in which Mazda has teased out the shape to accommodate the folding roof. The rear deck of the car sits 40mm higher at the rear window line and 20mm higher at the trailing edge of the boot, giving it a slightly more hunched and powerful look than the soft top. It's really a very minor change and tough to discern in isolation. Whereas the average duration for a roof operation of this kind tends to be around 22 seconds, Mazda has whittled that time back to a mere 12 seconds for the MX-5 Roadster Coupe. The driver must unlatch a centre lock and then press a button to operate the roof but it can easily be done while waiting at lights. Boot capacity is a surprisingly usable 150-litres whether the roof is up or down.
Market and Model
So what do you get for the £23,000 asking price? Well, a model-unique, Soul Red Metallic paint finish is complemented by Brilliant Black door mirrors, A pillars and power-operated retractable hardtop roof. 17-inch Dark Gunmetal alloy wheels, a rear diffuser and chrome exhaust trim complete the bespoke exterior, with each example benefiting from unique, Limited Edition numbered external badging. On board, the 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Mazda MX-5 may be instantly identified by heated, Light Stone leather trimmed upholstery which incorporates contrasting red stitching to the seats, steering wheel, gearshift and handbrake lever, and 25th Anniversary logo-embossed headrests. This unique interior design is completed by a bespoke, hand-painted Dark Red dashboard decoration panel, Brilliant Black roll-over bar covers, alloy pedal set and 25th Anniversary stainless steel scuff plates. Specific to the UK 25th Anniversary Limited Edition MX-5 is a 6.1-inch touch screen Mazda Navigation System. Exclusively engineered for Mazda by Alpine, the fully integrated, high resolution system features 46 European country maps, 29 different languages, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, an integrated CD, radio and DVD player with a 50:50 split screen allowing for the simultaneous viewing of two input sources, and customisable user profile settings for each driver.
Cost of Ownership
Stick with light weight and modest power outputs and this dictates a raft of affordable costs. The MX-5 has long been the exemplar of the affordable sports car and although its engines are, comparatively speaking, no great shakes when it comes to efficiency, in absolute terms their emissions and economy aren't going to break the bank. The 2.0-litre model returns 36.2mpg on the combined cycle and 181g/km of CO2. Residual values have held up well for MX-5s in recent times, although some trade ambivalence exists as a result of all the MX-5 special edition models that have come and gone. In other words, don't expect traders to value the 25th Annivery model's extras too highly come trade-in time.

PCP (Personal Contract Purchase) a simple cost effective way to buy your new or nearly new car.
You choose the car, the deposit, how long you want the contract to run for and the mileage you intend to do. You will then receive a quote for fixed cost motoring for the length of the contract. At the end of the contract you have a choice to either buy the car outright for an agreed lump sum (the GFV or final balloon payment), or hand the vehicle back to the lender.
Hire Purchase allows you to take ownership of a car once all payments are made.
This is one of the most popular methods to buy a new vehicle. You pay an initial deposit, then pay off the balance in monthly payments over an agreed period of time, when the payments are complete the car is yours.
One of the main benefits with Hire Purchase is the ability to buy a high value vehicle on monthly payments.
Hire Purchase allows you to tailor your finance package as deposit, length of time and monthly payments are all flexible.
Personal contract hire is very similar to normal contract hire, but is exclusively for private individuals. This is one of the most common form of leasing.
With a personal contract hire agreement you take control of a car for a contractual period – usually referred to as the ‘lease period’. You will make fixed monthly payments for the duration of the contract – when the contract expires you will simply return the car and take out a new personal contract hire lease. PCH means you never have to worry about resale values of your car.
