Similar to a mild hybrid, a full hybrid battery recharges itself, meaning you don’t need to plug in and charge up. It features a bigger battery than a mild hybrid which allows you to drive on electric mode only, for a certain number of miles.

Fuel efficient. Cost-effective.
A mild hybrid features a small electric motor which powers the technology within the car and assists the fuel engine on every journey. It is unable to run on all-electric power alone, however, the combination of both power sources allows for lower emissions and a more efficient drive.

If you’re stopping for a coffee at the services or catching up on the housework at home, you’re Ford electric or hybrid vehicle can charge whilst you crack on with daily life.
Ford has also partnered with IONITY to provide a reliable, fast and high-powered charging network to decrease the time spent charging on longer journeys. The IONITY partnership is improving the infrastructure by building 400 charging stations across Europe by the end of 2020, with each station providing 6 charge points on average.

How far can I go in a Ford electric or hybrid vehicle?
It all depends on the type of electrified vehicle you choose. With the plug-in hybrid options, you can get a range of up to 30 miles, whereas the Mach-E offers a range of up to 370 miles on a full charge.
Are electric vehicles more expensive?
Initially, electric vehicles can be more expensive to buy, however, running and maintenance costs are significantly lower than that of a petrol or diesel car. In the UK, you could be eligible for a government grant of up to £3,500 (depending on the type of EV you want to buy) and there are savings on fuel costs, tax, congestion charges (where applicable), parking and car maintenance!
How long does it take to charge an electric or hybrid vehicle?
Hybrid and mild hybrid vehicles do not need plugged in to be charged. However, all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids need to be connected to an electricity supply. The time it takes depends on the vehicle and how you charge it. You can plug in your vehicle at home with a wallbox which will reach full charge overnight. If you’re out and about, a rapid charger can charge up your vehicle quicker. You can find you nearest charging point here.
How long does the battery last?
This is dependent on several factors including type of battery, charging habits and environment, or more specifically temperature. Lithium-ion batteries, the most common battery used in EVs, can last up to 10 years!
