Hearts Partner with StatsBomb for Improved Performance Analysis

Hearts have signed a contract with cutting-edge analytics platform StatsBomb to help strengthen their analytic capabilities.

Over 100 professional clubs worldwide use the performance data supplied by StatsBomb to help inform team analysts, coaches and scouts.

StatsBomb can record over 3,400 events per game, including unique metrics such as Pass Footedness, Shot Impact Height, and Pressures by Player and Team.

Hearts will also be able to access the IQ Scout and IQ Tactics tools which will enable visualisation of patterns in opponent’s play. It will also help to identify players for scouting and recruitment purposes from a database of 70,000+ player profiles across 100+ competitions.

Data will also be available to supporters for detailed insight on match performances.

Jake Sheard, Lead Performance Analyst, Hearts FC, said:

“We are delighted to secure a long-term partnership with StatsBomb which will continue into the 2022/23 season. StatsBomb continues to lead the field with unrivalled data collection and both their IQ platform and API will allow Hearts to provide data-driven insights throughout the club. StatsBomb data will help to power our recruitment and match analysis processes ensuring our coaching, analysis and recruitment staff can make the most informed decisions possible.

"Our relationship is already proving productive within both on pitch performance and player recruitment, and I have no doubts this will help the club to continue the success of this season as we step into our European journey in 2022/23.”

It’s hoped that the software will help strengthen key club departments ahead of Hearts' upcoming European and domestic campaigns.
