The Macklin Motors Guide to EV Government Funding

The Macklin Motors Guide to EV Government Funding

If you are looking to buy an electric vehicle, there’s help available to make the switch that little bit easier. It was recently announced that the Scottish Government would be investing £30million into low carbon transport with support including the Used Electric Vehicle Loan and Domestic Chargepoint Funding.

As well as support from the Scottish Government, the UK Government also offer the Plug-in Van Grant and EV Chargepoint Grant.

Here’s everything you need to know about the funding available.

Plug-in Van Grant

The Plug-in Van Grant offers up to £5,000 towards the cost of a large van, or up to £2,500 towards the cost of a small van if it meets the specified emissions criteria.

Vans that are able to travel 60 miles without creating any emissions and have C02 emissions of 50h/km or less are eligible for the grant.

This includes:

- Peugeot e-Boxer

- Peugeot e-Partner

- Toyota Proace Electric

Your local Macklin Motors dealership will take care of all the hard work for you. Just be sure to read the terms and conditions to double-check if the grant amount has already been taken off the advertising price, or if the grant is still to be discounted.

Used Electric Vehicle Loan

The Used Electric Vehicle Loan is an interest free loan funded by Transport Scotland and administered by Energy Saving Trust.
