The Nissan Townstar enjoyed double success at the What Van? Awards 2024, winning two highly contested titles.

The light commercial vehicle (LCV) was awarded the titles of Compact Van of The Year and Electric Van of The Year, for the all-electric version.

With petrol and electric versions, the Nissan Townstar gives businesses greater choice when it comes to how they operate.

Electric Van of The Year

The electric van offers up to 183 miles (WLTP) range as standard, increased to 269 miles (WLTP) on the City Cycle.

It’s also equipped with the latest technology to prioritise efficiency. This includes intelligent energy management and battery thermal cooling technology.

The 45kWh electric battery is compatible with both AC charging (up to 22kW) or DC CCS quick charging (80kW). With quick charging, it can be charged from 15-80% in just 37 minutes.

  • Emergency Braking
  • Hands-Free Parking
  • Intelligent Cruise Control
  • Around View Monitor

As for capacity, the Nissan Townstar is well-prepared to carry the day’s load. The L1 version features a generous load space of 3.3mᶾ, while the L2 version offers up to 4.3mᶾ. It also offers a payload of up to 770kg and a towing capacity of 1,500kg, covering all the bases.

A testament to quality craftsmanship, the Nissan Townstar also offers a generous warranty for peace of mind. The van comes with a five-year (100,000-mile) warranty with five years of roadside assistance. Meanwhile, the electric version offers an eight-year (100,000-mile) battery warranty.

Francesco Russiello, LCV Category Manager at Nissan GB, said:

“Here at Nissan, we know what a fantastic vehicle Townstar is, and it’s wonderful to receive official confirmation of this at the respected What Van? Awards.

Naturally, we are delighted – in particular with our overall ‘Electric Van of the Year’ success, in which Townstar would have been competing with vehicles of all shapes and sizes from a wide range of manufacturers.

With tougher emissions standards, urban access restrictions, and ever-increasing demand for last-mile delivery, businesses large and small need to find effective and sustainable solutions to remain competitive and optimise their operations. Townstar fits the bill perfectly.”
