The all-new Peugeot e-208 has been named the best Electric Small Car at the 2020 What Car? Electric Awards.
Already named European Car of the Year and winner of the Little Legend award last year, the e-208 is Peugeot’s first, new generation all-electric vehicle and continues its winning streak thanks to the What Car? judges.
What Car? Editor, Steve Huntingford, said: “All things considered, the e-208 is the best small electric car you can buy. It has a good real-world range, the suspension does a great job of keeping you comfortable, and the interior is as eye-catching as it is classy. We particularly like the Allure Premium version, because it's attractively priced, but still comes with loads of kit, including climate control, wireless phone charging and a 10.0in infotainment system with phone mirroring."
Peugeot’s new philosophy - ‘choose your Peugeot, choose your powertrain’ – impressed the What Car? judges because it gives customers the chance to choose how they want to drive. The 208 model is available as a petrol, diesel or fully-electric option, and no matter which one drivers go for, space, performance and practicality will not have been compromised.
Delivering a range of up to 217 miles, the e-208 eliminates range anxiety and can be plugged into a rapid charging point, whereby it will reach 80% charge in as little as 30 minutes.
David Peel, Managing Director of Peugeot UK, said: “The all-new e-208 is our first new generation full electric vehicle, and it’s great to see it immediately recognised by both the industry and the buying public. At Peugeot, we’re following a unique philosophy around the ‘power of choice’ that allows buyers to choose the right powertrain that suits their needs. Our electric vehicles come with the same practical features as their petrol or diesel vehicle counterparts, with no compromise in capability, interior space or technology. We are very honoured to receive the ‘Electric Small Car of the Year’ award from What Car?”
Available to order now, the Peugeot e-208 is a great electric vehicle to choose if you’re looking to make the switch.
