Ford has released the seventh episode in its 'Rebirth of an Icon' documentary series. The latest episode focusses on the first public track-outing of the RS at Goodwood, with the help of stunt ace Ken Block.

Block, driving the RS up the hill at this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, thoroughly enjoyed his time behind the wheel, commenting on the car's high level of responsiveness and the improvement in power delivery, since the last time he drove the car.

The film then switches to Belgium, where Ford's development team convened to decide whether the new RS was ready for production. The consensus was that the car had developed a strong personality, and that it was fun to drive.

However, despite these hugely promising signs, the team deemed the RS in need of some further tweaks before it is signed off for production.

The next instalment in the series will indicate whether the RS is ready for a final sign-off, after being tested in the US.
