Hearts Extend Winning Run To Four

Heart of Midlothian made it four successive wins in the Scottish Premiership as the Macklin Motors-backed side moved up to third in the table.

Fresh from wins against Livingston, Motherwell and St Johnstone, the Jambos headed for Kilmarnock chasing a fourth straight league win for the first time in five years.

With Kilmarnock having an impressive home record so far this season, the home side started strongly but an error from goalkeeper Will Dennis would prove to be costly as Hearts grabbed the lead just before the 20 minute mark.

On-form Lawrence Shankland was played in down the left hand side and when he fired the ball across into the box, Dennis could only fumble the ball into his own net to give Hearts the lead.

Kilmarnock came close to an equaliser just before half-time before Shankland had a shot well saved by Dennis as Hearts looked to extend their lead.

Alex Cochrane and Kyosuke Tagawa also went close before Kilmarnock almost grabbed a point late on through Stuart Findlay, but Hearts held on for a win that sees them move up to third ahead of St Mirren following their 2-0 defeat at Rangers.

The impressive run of results saw Steven Naismith secure the Manager of the Month award for November.

Hearts face the Ibrox side next at home before a trip to Aberdeen.
