PEUGEOT has added another award to its repertoire, as the e-2008 has taken the crown for ‘Best Crossover’ at the TopGear Electric Awards 2021.

As part of PEUGEOT’s strategy to provide a fully electric range by 2025, the PEUGEOT e-2008 arrived in 2020 as the second new generation, full-electric model.

Built with a 136hp electric motor and a 50kWh battery, the e-2008 is capable of up to 206 miles of zero-emissions range from a single charge. Additionally, an 80% charge takes as little as 30 minutes using 100kW rapid charging.

TopGear titled the Peugeot e-2008 ‘Best Crossover’ against tough competition and judges praised the model for its performance, bold, futuristic look and impressive range capabilities.

Jack Rix, Editor at TopGear, commented: “Should you find yourself in the market for a compact electric crossover, you’ll discover your options are many and growing by the day.”

“Our tip is the PEUGEOT e-2008...there’s sparkle in the design – inside and out – the range and performance over-deliver and it feels futuristic without any Back to the Future Part II naffness.”

The TopGear Electric Awards launched in 2020 and praises the best models across the full EV spectrum.

The new PEUGEOT 3D i-Cockpit is featured in the e-2008, alongside a compact multifunction steering wheel, a configurable 3D head-up display panel and either a seven or 10-inch HD capacitive colour touchscreen.

The PEUGEOT e-2008 comes fitted with a variety of the most current advanced technologies including PEUGEOT Connect SOS and Assistance, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go function, Lane Positioning Assist and Mirror Screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.

In line with the recent government announcement to cut the Plug-in Car Grant to £2,500, PEUGEOT revised its pricing for a selection of e-2008 models to strengthen the brand’s dedication to economic electrification.

Julie David, Managing Director of PEUGEOT UK, commented: “I am very excited to see the PEUGEOT e-2008 named ‘Best Crossover’ at the TopGear Electric Awards 2021. The e-2008 symbolises our vision for a future of electric mobility that is versatile, practical, and accessible to all drivers.”

“It is great to stand out among some tough competition as EV popularity continues to grow. We will continue to develop the models across our electric offering as we work towards providing a fully electrified range by 2025.”
